Help › Social accounts and posting

Quick answer
Trolto writes and designs your posts ahead of time and places them on your content calendar. Open one, change anything you like, and approve it. Approved posts publish themselves at their scheduled time to every connected account. Nothing goes out without your approval.
In this article
You do not start from a blank page. A fresh week of content is written and designed for you, using your brand colours, your photos, and your market. Each post lands on the calendar on the day it is meant to go out.
• Content preferences controls what gets written — the topics and the mix.
• Brand kit controls how it looks — colours, logo, headshot, fonts.
• A change to either follows through to posts that have not gone out yet.
If something is consistently wrong, change the setting rather than each post. Everything written after that follows the new setting.
Open Content calendar in the sidebar.
Click the post you want to look at.
Change whatever you want: the caption, the text on the image, the photos, or the design. Try another design restyles the post at no cost if it is not to your taste.
Set the date and time if you want it to go out at a different moment.
Approve it. From then on it publishes itself at that time.
A post you do not want does not have to be fixed. Delete it and the rest of the week is unaffected.
You are not limited to what is written for you. Create your own post, pick the accounts it should go to, and either publish it straight away or schedule it. Once a post is ready you will find Post now and Schedule at the bottom of the editor.
• Content calendar — everything scheduled, by day. A post marked Scheduled is approved and queued to publish.
• Content hub — your saved posts, each with the option to post now or schedule.
• Your home page shows what has already been done for you, and paying accounts get a Monday email summarising the week.
These limits come from the platforms themselves. Trolto's own content is made to fit them, so they mostly matter when you upload your own photos or video.
• One video per post, or multiple photos per post.
• Images: keep under 4 MB. Video: up to 1 GB.
• Posts go to a professional Instagram account linked to your Facebook Page.
• Instagram requires an image or video on every post — it has no text-only post.
• One video per post, or multiple photos per post.
• Images: up to 5 MB. Video: up to 5 GB.
X (Twitter)
• Multiple photos, multiple videos, or a mix of both in one post.
• Images: up to 5 MB. Video: up to 15 MB.
Will Trolto post without asking me?
No. Posts are written and scheduled for you, but publishing waits on your approval.
A post did not go out
What can cause this
• The post was never approved, so it stayed a draft.
• The connection for that account has dropped or was revoked on the platform's side.
• The platform rejected the post, usually over a media requirement.
What to do
• Open the post on the calendar and check whether it is approved.
• Check Connect socials for an account that needs reconnecting. See connecting your accounts.
• Still stuck? Email support@trolto.com with the post and the date it should have gone out.
Can I change the times posts go out?
Yes. Every post carries its own date and time, which you can change before approving it. Times follow the time zone on your profile.
Can I edit a post after it has published?
Not from Trolto. Once a post is live it belongs to the platform, so edit or delete it there.
Email support@trolto.com and include:
• The email address on your Trolto account
• What you were trying to do and what happened instead
• For billing questions, the date and amount of the charge, or a screenshot
If you are logged in, you can also use the chat bubble in the bottom corner of the app.
